I won 3 lots of £5 simply by searching using the site when I was bored. The other £5 was won because one of my referrals won £5. I haven’t seen any big prizes go since I have been using the site, but I’ve seen that they have given away plasma screens and Ipods before.

Wabba Dabba is a search engine which uses the Yahoo search engine algorithm. Wabba Dabba hands out prizes on a regular basis to the people who search using the search engine.

The prizes available include Ipod’s, Plasma screen tv’s, Amazon vouchers, and much much more. They give out prizes randomly to people who search using their website. The more searches you do per day, the higher your chances of winning a prize. I think you are limited to around 100 searches per day, but I guess most people would struggle to reach 100 searches a day naturally anyway.

One of the great things about Wabba Dabba is the refer-a-friend scheme. If you refer someone who wins a prize, you will also win that prize! So if you refer hundreds of people and a handful all win £10 amazon vouchers, you too will win some £10 amazon vouchers.

I also love the whole idea of Wabba Dabba. They must make a lot of money through using the Yahoo search engine program, and so obviously they can afford to give away some nice prizes now and again. The site is one of the few decent search engines where you can actually gain something from using the site (apart from finding the search result you required, obviously :p).

If I’m honest I am yet to win anything through Wabba Dabba (although I hardly ever search using the site), and from my referrals none of these have won anything yet either However on one of the forums where I learnt about Wabba Dabba, there is around 10 people who have all reported winning a prize (usually just an Amazon voucher) but fingers crossed anyway!

Being able to work from home is probably not suitable for all people, many will simply get bored or lack motivation. Here are 10 signs that being self employed and working from home is not for you… 

1. You are seriously contemplating the purchase of a “You don’t have to be mad to work here… but it does help!” poster, for use on your bedroom/workroom wall.
2. You have 3 clocks hanging on your wall which display the times in 3 different time zones, yet you are not quite sure why.
3. You once sent yourself an e-mail stating that you were unhappy with your current work-appearance, requesting that you trim those bushy sideburns or risk losing your job…
4. You’re insistent on wearing a shirt and tie whilst “at work” and you once considered staying all bed in day as you couldn’t find your lucky tie.
5. You gave yourself an official warning after “accidentally” accessing a “Swedish schoolgirls” website.
6. You’ve banned workplace relationships – so you are no longer able to spy on the sexy woman that lives across the road.
7. You’re worried about the lack of a multi-cultural environment at work, so to combat this you aim to eat at least one takeaway meal every week.
8. You insist on being referred to as “Sir” when housemates/family members try talking to you at home.
9. You actually contemplated staging a Christmas party at your workplace, even getting so far as creating a budget for the event.

I thought that I would give this a go - his blog gets thousands of visitors every day, so I felt I was sure to get a fair few visitors to my Paid 2 Review website. Now I didn’t realise at first that my advert would be on a rotation schedule with other adverts, but I still wasn’t too fussed - I was sure that I would still get a fair few amount of hits from it.

Anyway a week passed and I just checked my stats with AdToll. In 7 days I had 14,461 impressions… and 25 clicks So I paid $20 for 25 clicks. Thats $0.8 dollars per click, or about £0.40 per click. I must admit, I was not too impressed.

In hindsight I think my advertising purchase was a bit of an impulse buy - I just happened to be reading Shoemoney’s blog and because his post about Adtoll and the $20 week space I thought I would give it a gamble, which did not pay off. Next time I will spend more time planning and thinking about my advertising, and will use this as a lesson in the future.

I hadn’t actually noticed this until the other day - when my previously PR0 (or grey bar) jumped to PR3, only a few weeks after puchasing the domain. I had only just uploaded a forum to the site, but I had received a PR3 because I gave the forum a sitewide link on my main ‘make money online’ website (which at the time was PR3, with a lot of inner PR3 pages too. I had to get rid of a phpBB forum that was attracting so much spam. I decided I would go for vBulletin, after asking for some advice at the excellent Digital Point forums. If you are a newbie, or even an experienced website or blog owner, then you simply must join the Digital Point forums. Obviously more so if you are a newbie, as you will learn so much, and there are so many people there to help you out with any questions/problems with your sites. (more…)

Not many people know that Amazon has a kind of ‘cashback price promise’. It means that if you ever puchase an item from their website, which has dropped in price since the 30 days that you bought it, you will be able to re-claim the difference. It’s basically a nice little way of Amazon making sure that you don’t miss out on any of their bargains, if you had already paid full price for an item. Now, I don’t mind most aspects of exchanging links - I enjoy searching for other ‘make money online’ related websites, and contacting them regarding a link exchange. I also enjoy it when people contact me asking for a link exchange (at least when they aren’t running spammy sites, or aren’t simply after a piece of my Page Rank).

My real hate is when you agree to exchange links with someone, and you place your link on your website and they do the same on their website… only for a few months down the line, when you go to check out their website, and your link has mysteriously disappeared. No polite e-mail stating that they will be removing your link, no reasoning behind removing your link, and most annoyingly, the fact that you have been displaying their website link in the belief that they are also doing the same. I set the blog up with the idea of telling and showing people how to make money online. I was thinking at first that I would stick to the ways to make money online from using websites - which would include advertising programs, affiliate programs, etc. However, I feel that if this blog was to provide something a little different, and something that anyone can participate in, I decided that I would include other simpler ways of making money online.
