10 Signs That Working From Home Is Not Working For You
Apologies for the lack of updates recently, not had loads to talk about. Wrote this the other day, if you can relate to any of the points mentioned then perhaps its time to give up working from home!
Being able to work from home is probably not suitable for all people, many will simply get bored or lack motivation. Here are 10 signs that being self employed and working from home is not for you…
- You are seriously contemplating the purchase of a “You don’t have to be mad to work here… but it does help!” poster, for use on your bedroom/workroom wall.
- You have 3 clocks hanging on your wall which display the times in 3 different time zones, yet you are not quite sure why.
- You once sent yourself an e-mail stating that you were unhappy with your current work-appearance, requesting that you trim those bushy sideburns or risk losing your job…
- You’re insistent on wearing a shirt and tie whilst “at work” and you once considered staying all bed in day as you couldn’t find your lucky tie.
- You gave yourself an official warning after “accidentally” accessing a “Swedish schoolgirls” website.
- You’ve banned workplace relationships – so you are no longer able to spy on the sexy woman that lives across the road.
- You’re worried about the lack of a multi-cultural environment at work, so to combat this you aim to eat at least one takeaway meal every week.
- You insist on being referred to as “Sir” when housemates/family members try talking to you at home.
- You actually contemplated staging a Christmas party at your workplace, even getting so far as creating a budget for the event.
- You once tried phoning in sick, and became confused when your girlfriend/housemate answered the phone.
Advertising On ShoeMoney.com - The Results Of One Week 125×125
Now I have never really bothered paying for advertisements for any of my websites before, but a few days ago whilst browsing the Shoe Money site one of his posts caught my eye. He was selling 125 x 125 advertising spaces for $20 for a week, using the AdToll program.
I thought that I would give this a go - his blog gets thousands of visitors every day, so I felt I was sure to get a fair few visitors to my Paid 2 Review website. Now I didn’t realise at first that my advert would be on a rotation schedule with other adverts, but I still wasn’t too fussed - I was sure that I would still get a fair few amount of hits from it.
Anyway a week passed and I just checked my stats with AdToll. In 7 days I had 14,461 impressions… and 25 clicks
So I paid $20 for 25 clicks. Thats $0.8 dollars per click, or about £0.40 per click. I must admit, I was not too impressed.
In hindsight I think my advertising purchase was a bit of an impulse buy - I just happened to be reading Shoemoney’s blog and because his post about Adtoll and the $20 week space I thought I would give it a gamble, which did not pay off. Next time I will spend more time planning and thinking about my advertising, and will use this as a lesson in the future.
Latest Money Making Update
Apologies for the lack of recent updates, have been a little busy.
Thought I would start this post by saying thank you to Jay from the Online Opportunity website, as I recently won a website after taking part in their latest competition. Jay often runs some great contests on his site, and also has some great money making advice too - so its well worth taking a look at his pages.
I have been busy updating one of my money making forum, and also making some changes to my main make money online website. I am trying to find some people to help out with the forums (moderating, posting, etc) so if that interests you then please contact me
Have also been busy trying to find a new layout for this blog. I like the basic layout at the moment, but want to add room for some advertisements and links. At the moment the blog is probably looking a little bare, so please bare with me for the next few weeks ![]()
